Shopping from hundreds of complete bikes
The Complete Bikes tab lists factory-stock builds — real bikes as manufacturers actually spec and sell them, not custom builds assembled part-by-part. Each row is a specific model, generation, and (where it matters) model year, with a fixed list of factory-fit parts already filled in. Browsing a catalog this size works best once you know what the price block, the badges, and the filter facets are actually telling you, since none of them are just decoration.
What actually changes between trims
Many models are sold in more than one trim: the same frame, geometry, and suspension platform offered at multiple price points, with different component tiers bolted on at each one. Moving up a trim typically changes the drivetrain (a mechanical, cable-actuated groupset at a lower trim versus a wireless electronic one higher up, or a lower-tier cassette/derailleur swapped for a higher-capacity one), the suspension components (a simpler fork and shock damper at the entry end, a fully adjustable high-end damper at the top), the wheels (alloy rims and a heavier hub at entry, a lighter carbon or higher-end alloy wheelset further up), and sometimes the brakes and cockpit parts. What generally does not change between trims of the same model is the frame itself — the geometry, travel numbers, and headset/BB/axle standards usually stay identical across the whole trim range, since that's the expensive tooling a manufacturer isn't going to vary just to hit a lower price point. There's no dedicated "trim" filter chip on this site — trims simply show up as separate rows sharing a model name — but the material, drivetrain, and travel facets described below let you compare across trims (and across brands) on the specs that actually differ.
The dual-price block, explained
Every complete-bike card shows a small price block with up to four pieces of information: the bike's price marked "complete," an optional "Sale" line, a parts total marked "as parts," and an optional "save" figure. The "complete" figure is always the manufacturer's MSRP — the maker's own list price for that build. When a recorded street/sale price exists for a bike, it shows as a separately labeled "Sale" line underneath, never in place of the MSRP figure. The "as parts" total is what buying every one of that bike's factory-stock components individually, at today's catalog prices, would cost. The "save" figure — shown only when it's actually positive — is the difference between that parts total and the MSRP, never the sale price. This is a deliberate policy, not an oversight: a recorded sale is real but temporary, and letting a temporary discount inflate the headline savings figure (or push a bike up a "best value" ranking) would make the comparison dishonest the moment the sale ends. MSRP is the stable, always-available basis for both the headline price and the savings math; the sale price is just an FYI.
Verified vs. estimated specs on a complete bike

It's worth knowing that a complete bike being unverified doesn't necessarily mean its spec is shaky: some manufacturers' own websites render their spec pages in a way that blocks automated fetching entirely, so even a fully and accurately spec'd build from those brands can end up listed as an honest sample rather than a Verified row, simply because the source page couldn't be fetched directly. That's a statement about how fetchable a given source was, not a judgment about how accurate the listing is — but it's still worth treating any unverified row's exact numbers as good-faith estimates rather than confirmed fact, same as anywhere else in the catalog.
The facets that help you narrow the field
Several filter rows on the Complete Bikes tab read straight through a bike's factory parts list to let you compare builds on the specs that actually vary between models and trims:

- Drivetrain — narrows to electronic or mechanical (cable) drivetrains, read from whichever shifter or derailleur the bike actually ships with. A single-speed complete bike has no shifter or derailleur to read at all, so it simply doesn't match either chip — it isn't miscategorized, there's just nothing for this facet to compare.
- Front travel (fork) — a range slider reading the actual fork travel each bike ships with.

These stack with the usual discipline chip, the ✓ Verified only toggle, and the Compatible only toggle, so you can combine "carbon, electronic, 140–160mm rear travel, enduro" into one narrowed list rather than scrolling the whole catalog.
"Checked by the engine," on every card
Every complete-bike card notes how many factory-stock parts make up that build and describes it as a "faithful build, checked by the engine."
