It isn't just a matter of pulling the tube out of any tire and rim — a genuinely tubeless-ready tire uses a different bead shape (a squared-off profile, versus the rounded bead on a standard clincher tire) with reinforced casing, and a genuinely tubeless-ready rim uses a matching hooked-sidewall channel profile built to lock that squared bead in place, plus a deeper center channel that makes mounting the tire easier in the first place. Mixing non-tubeless-ready parts into a homemade tubeless setup is explicitly not considered a safe or reliable practice by suspension-and-wheel service references — the tire and rim genuinely need to be built for it, not just "probably fine" together.
The basic mounting sequence
