BuildMyMTB — Image & Data Permission

Partnership terms — v1.1, August 2026

The request

BuildMyMTB requests permission to display your official product images and published specifications so riders can accurately compare, configure, and plan custom bike builds using your products.

Who we are

BuildMyMTB (buildmymtb.com), built and operated by Doug Wills. A free bike build planner where users can choose frames and components for custom bike builds and modifications. It includes real time compatibility checks, product specs, weights, and running price. Signed-in riders get a garage to save builds, track inventory of the parts they own, log service records for bikes and components, and get recall notifications. BuildMyMTB is the flagship of one site. BMX, road, gravel and e-MTB builders run at buildmymtb.com too. Free to use, funded by disclosed affiliate links as those programs come online, never by placement. BuildMyMTB is under active development, with new products and features added continuously. (This permission runs to the site's operator today and carries over automatically to a company if one is later formed.)

The Numbers

More than 7,300 bike parts listed so far (as of August 2026), over 5,200 of them verified against the maker's own published specs, with more being added and verified regularly. The "verified" mark is enforced, and our validator refuses it unless a row carries the source URL and the date we checked it. Where we lack maker-backed data, the engine stays silent rather than guessing: the all-clear reads "No conflicts found," never "guaranteed compatible."

What we're asking manufacturers to grant

Permission to use the same official assets you already make available to dealers and distributors. Your current-line product studio images (product-on-white or transparent PNG), per SKU and per colorway where they exist. The highest resolution you have, PNG is preferred, JPEG/TIFF is fine(we convert), no watermarks. Ideally filenames identify the product, or a simple list correlating images to their SKUs.

What we're NOT asking for

Terms

Why say yes, what you get

What we commit to in return

Delivery

If you already publish a product feed to dealers in CSV, XML, JSON, or through an API, that is our preferred route. We adapt to your format, it keeps your images and specifications synchronized automatically, and it asks the least of your time. Otherwise, whatever is easiest for you: a link to your media library or asset portal, or a zip/Drive dump. If you can name a contact for future asset updates and your preferred channel for those, we can keep your listings current as your line evolves.

Paper

A reply saying "approved, scope as described" is all we need to keep on file. Equally happy to sign your standard asset-license agreement.
